New Commonwealth High-Risk Work Regulations
The Commonwealth Occupational Health and Safety (Safety Standards) Regulations 1994 have been amended in order to implement the requirements of the National Standard for Licensing Persons Performing High Risk Work and came into effect on 9 October 2008.
New Heavy Vehicle Driver Fatigue Laws
On 29 September 2008, new national road transport Heavy Vehicle Driver Fatigue laws came into force in NSW, VIC, SA, QLD and NT. The Road Traffic (Heavy Vehicle Driver Fatigue) Regulations (2008) were developed by the NTC and approved by ministers from all States and Territories.
New Legionella Regulations Now in Force in South Australia
SA Health has recently released the Public and Environmental Health (Legionella) Regulations 2008. The new regulations and associated Guidelines for the Control of Legionella in Manufactured Water Systems in South Australia came into force on 1 October 2008.
